Description:a simple Description about Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga which literally means “eight-limbed yoga” is known to have originated from an ancient text called the Yoga Korunta, by Vamana Rishi and now spread to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This is also known as ashtanga vinyasa yoga or astanga yoga. Ashtanga yoga is done by being in progressive order of positions and by synchronizing the breath. This method of yoga produces powerful internal heat and purifies sweat, which destroys the toxic properties of muscles and organs. This results in better blood circulation, a weightless-strong body and a calm mind.
Yama, Niyama, Asana and pranayama are the first four limbs which are considered to be external cleansing practices. Pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi are four internal cleansing practices which brings the mind under control. When purification becomes complete and mind comes under control, the six types of venoms surrounding the holy heart [desire (kama), anger (krodha), delusion (moha), greed (lobha), sloth (matsarya) and envy (mada)], will one by one go completely enlightening the Self Enhancement. In this way, the correct, conscientious practice of Ashtanga Yoga under the direction of best resource available, with a passive mind unchained from the external and internal sense organs, finally leads one to the complete understanding of eight-limbed yoga.
